Survey Reports and Data

This page contains the final report documenting the design and analysis of a compensation preference survey sponsored by the Commission. The Commission procured the services of National Capitol Contracting (NCC) and TrueChoice Solutions, Inc. to conduct a preference-based survey of Service members and retirees. Mathematica Policy Research designed the sampling plan. In addition to the final survey report, a series of documents and files provide considerable detail on the design of the survey samples and survey response results.

Survey Output Charts and Data

The three Active, Reserve, and military retired population groups each contain an Excel file and ZIP file of charts. The Excel files provide narrative content on the question items for the subject population group and an extensive set of statistics on results for each question item for each of the subgroups identified in the sampling plan. Consult the final report and sampling plan above for details on this.

The three ZIP files for the Active, Reserve, and military retired population groups each contain a series of PDF files that show the following by key demographic variables:

  • Perceived Value (PV) for each alternative level within a question item;
  • Relative Importance (RI) percentage rankings for each benefit attribute;
  • Relative Importance (RI) metrics for each alternative level within a question item; and
  • Satisfaction rating distributions for each benefit attribute.

The last file in the list below (marked "new") is a supplement to the zip files. This new Excel file displays summary Relative Importance (RI) metrics for each stratification variable within each of the three sample population groups.

For a discussion and explanation of the meaning of these various metrics, consult the final report above.
